By Bobby Stentfeister

You may find yourself getting frustrated as you begin to exercise or begin a fitness program if you are hitting a brick wall. This can come in the form of schedule conflicts that get in the way of your routine. But we all know how important it is to overcome these obstacles. Overcoming these obstacles is important and we are here to help.

For some people, the weather is one of the obstacles they will face. Severe winter weather can make it impossible to either exercise outside or to even drive to the gym. By the time spring comes along, you've forgotten about your exercise program. You can easily overcome this problem by having exercises you can do at home. Because it's not always practical to go out, it's good to have a routine you can do at home, even if you do prefer exercising at the gym or outside.

It's very common for people to not begin a fitness program, or quit it after a short time, simply because they don't enjoy it. Avoiding this situation is as easy as finding an activity that you enjoy doing. If you are struggling with coming up with an activity you enjoy try considering what activities you enjoyed even as a young child. There are a multitude of activities that can improve your overall fitness, you must like something. Perhaps you enjoy bike riding, racket ball, martial arts or swimming? If it's an enjoyable activity you won't have to think of it as a chore.

Some use being tired and having low energy levels, which can be a symptom of poor fitness, as a reason to not exercise. In many cases, people nowadays are tired for the very obvious reason that they don't get enough sleep. Not only does sleep deprivation make it difficult to feel like exercising, it can make it difficult or even dangerous to maintain physical activity. If you have a serious problem with insomnia you should consult your doctor, but you may be able to get more sleep by changing your routine and diet. For example, avoiding any stimulants in the evening can make it easier to fall asleep, and you can often get to bed earlier simply by turning off the TV or going offline an hour or two earlier than usual.

Those who aren't happy doing their routines will find themselves quitting or not starting alot sooner. Avoiding this situation is as easy as finding an activity that you enjoy doing. Sometimes we have to stop and remember what we enjoyed as teenagers in order to find that perfect activity. There has to be something you will enjoy, afterall the possibilities are endless. Some examples include racket sports, martial arts, dancing, bike riding and swimming. You won't even think about the fitness you are gaining when it's a fun activity like these.
